3 weeks onwards - the critical socialisation period

Our Shetland Sheepdog puppies are raised using the Puppy Culture regime which produces well-adjusted, amazingly resilient, confident and enrichment seeking puppies who go on to become well rounded, outgoing, operant dogs.

A lot of thought and planning goes into each mating. Once the mother has passed all the relevant health testing, we then research and look for a suitable ‘father’ for our puppies. The pedigree lines are researched and consideration of the structure and temperament of a possible stud dog are paramount in our final decision.

Puppies go through important developmental periods when they are with the breeder. Raising a well-adjusted puppy takes a lot of work and planning and at Kasingal Shetland Sheepdogs we only breed a litter once every couple of years so that we are able to dedicate our time during this critical period to our puppies.
